Our Story
On December 10, 1984, Bob Garcia founded A.M. Express, Inc. After more than a decade of successful operations, Garcia hired Pat Barron as the company’s Accounting Manager on January 2, 1996. This marked the beginning of a new era for A.M. Express. In 1998, Mr. Barron made the pivotal decision to purchase the company.
At the time of the acquisition, A.M. Express had a fleet of just 21 tractors and 60 trailers. However, Mr. Barron had a clear vision for growth. Over the years, the company expanded, and in 2016, A.M. Express acquired Dow Dawson Trucking, a non-hazmat tanker hauling operation. This strategic move allowed the company to diversify its services and brought the fleet to 70 tractors, 125 dry-van trailers, and 23 tanker trailers.
In September 2022, Mr. Barron further expanded A.M. Express by purchasing D. Graham Transport, Inc., a flatbed hauling company based in Spaulding, MI. This acquisition enhanced A.M. Express’s service offerings even further.
Attached to the back of A.M. Express’s main office is Red Pine Equipment Maintenance, also owned by Mr. Barron.
